R3D Method

Custom lure design to start your own lure brand: 3D, swim validation and aluminum mold

Custom lure design needs a development partner, not a small workshop. R3D Fishing, a design and engineering studio based in Aix-en-Provence, France, starts from an idea or an existing design, then turns it into a production-ready lure: 3D modelling, balancing, swim-action validation, mold preparation and packaging.

Hard baits, soft baits, spinnerbaits, spintails and jig heads

In fact, we support fishing brands, manufacturers and entrepreneurs who want custom lure design for hard baits, soft baits, metal baits and jig heads. Moreover, every project stays strictly confidential, and we work with professional clients only (B2B). Finally, discover our creations validated in swim tests.

Three formulas: F1, F2, F3

Here are the three levels: F1 Engineering and validation, F2 Client prototype, F3 Packaging test. Each formula includes the previous one. Thus, you choose the level of support that fits your project.

Why choose R3D Fishing for custom lure design?

Concretely, we deliver the 3D files, the balancing plan and the master, then your mold maker or factory produces the series under your brand. Therefore, you keep control of your range, and you launch your brand with a lure already validated in water.

Who is Romain Grimaldi?

Romain Grimaldi has fished with lures for forty years, at sea and in fresh water. He taught himself 3D modelling to draw lures with singular shapes and swimming action. Then, he tunes balancing, hydrodynamics and swimming mechanics through video monitoring in the R3D Fishing test tank. Also read his interview on Peche.com (in French).
