3D MODELING (DESIGN) FISHING LURE

ABOUT

I’ve been lure fishing for over 40 years, in both freshwater and saltwater.

I worked as a fishing instructor and guide (BPJEPS), managed several lure-specialist e-commerce businesses, and launched an internationally oriented brand: Digital Squad Fishing. To manufacture this brand, I set up a dedicated production unit in Asia (Dream Unit Fishing Company), where I led a team of 15 employees.

Building on this experience, I taught myself 3D modeling to design lures with distinctive geometry and truly unique swim action. A step driven by one conviction: to create models that stand out in a market where many designs lack character.

Today, I focus on premium prototyping and series production for the models I develop—both for R3D-Fishing and for our clients. I personally handle the balancing, aero/hydrodynamics, and swim mechanics of every model (hard baits, soft baits, jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, etc.).

In this creative work, I combine technical precision with an artistic eye: every lure must have a soul—a visual signature—and a swimming action that’s as elegant as it is effective.

Producing a unique, high-performance lure

During the design process, I place great importance on the lure’s overall look—it must be truly distinctive. After many years of 3D modeling, this has become essential: it allows me to push the boundaries of imagination and explore geometries that go further than standard shapes.

Developing a lure goes through several stages: defining a solid geometric foundation and refining the hydrodynamics to create an attractive final swim action, tailored to one or more target species.

Prototyping is where performance is maximized: swim action, stability, and the ability to achieve long casting distances. This R&D work results in a lure built to handle real-world conditions and perform effectively on the water.

R3D-Fishing supports manufacturers and brands in the development of high-end fishing lures. From 3D CAD design to functional master prototypes for series production, each project is built to meet precise technical and performance requirements.

Lure balancing, video-monitored testing in our test tank and hydrodynamic adjustments are part of our development process. Our expertise covers hard baits such as stickbaits, poppers, jerkbaits, glide baits and crankbaits, soft baits such as shads, finesse shads, creatures and grubs, as well as metal jigs, jigheads and all types of technical fishing lures.
